Malicious, Spiteful, Unbearable, Intrusive, Obnoxious, Schumer

by on December 19, 2009

You can learn everything about an individual’s nature by observing how he acts toward customer service personnel. More specifically, anyone who aims unprovoked nastiness at a waiter or cab driver has inadvertently revealed himself to be at his core a crotch of a person.

That brings us to Gentleman Chuck Schumer. Conservatives of course find the New York senator’s excessively leftist politics distasteful. But those of all political beliefs should find him personally repugnant, too. His recent airplane hissy fit over his refusal to terminate a cell phone conversation at the attendant’s request shows why:

Schumer asked if he could finish his conversation. When the flight attendant said “no,” Schumer ended his call but continued to argue his case.

Just dropping it and politely complying apparently wasn’t an option for Mister Big Shot Second-Term Senator:

He said he was entitled to keep his phone on until the cabin door was closed. The flight attendant said he was obliged to turn it off whenever a flight attendant asked.”He argued with her about the rule,” the source said. “She said she doesn’t make the rules, she just follows them.”

But Schumer wasn’t finished embarrassing himself even after losing an argument with a lady doing her job. He just had to get catty while dragging his traveling companion into the morass:

When the flight attendant walked away, the witness says Schumer turned to (fellow New York Senator Kirsten) Gillibrand and uttered the B-word.

What a badass! Chuck Nasty failed his real-world personality trial by passively smearing a lady whose primary job is to accommodate travelers. Life seems disheartening when one ponders what, and whom, poor customer service representatives must tolerate to earn a check.

Further, the airline worker has bigger worries. Red State’s Moe Lane astutely points out that the airline employee “was merely a woman who wakes up every day wondering Is today the day that they try to use my workspace as a bomb again?” Schumer, whose job responsibilities include preserving our security, should know better than to exacerbate the staffer’s anxiety with confrontation and insults.

But the way he treated Gillibrand is just as appalling. It’s hard to imagine anyone with male plumbing so casually and offhandedly using the B-bomb to refer to a woman while talking to another woman. Actually, such imagining is only hard if one doesn’t know who Schumer is. The most disagreeable politician displayed remarkably nonchalant contempt for someone who happens to hold the same job title as him.

Out of politeness or protocol, Gillibrand found herself politely stewing after an elder politician acted spinelessly. Did she realize that forcing herself to not tell off someone like Schumer when he’s sorely asking for it would come with her appointment?

The unelected official already has numerous reasons to feel uncomfortable. For one, she may lose her job next year depending on what path Rudy chooses. Even worse, she has to work with her uncouth airplane buddy in the meantime.

Schumer is impressive in a perverse way: he treated two ladies like dirt by uttering only a single word. The genuine phony can brag all he wants about his dedication to women’s rights. But that commitment apparently doesn’t extend to actual individual women. There’s one thing better than apologizing after being caught: don’t be a boorish doofus in the first place.

Meanwhile, how would classy Charles react if someone made a similarly nasty comment about his wife or two daughters? He doesn’t seem like the type who would possess the nerve confront the offender. Instead, he’d call for legislation that would classify using the word “bitch” as a hate crime. Of course, he’d find a way to simultaneously exempt himself from prosecution. How else would he be able to talk about or converse with those whom he sees as beneath him?

Oh my God, of course Red State is the blog that brings up the worst case scenario to scare you into considering every action you make because it could kill someone. So could driving. calm the hell down.

The holier than thou reaction of the Right is humorous. Ensign cheated on his wife. Sanford cheated on his wife and used the splendid tax-payer dollar. Stop trying to make it seem like this kind of behavior towards women is just a Democrat thing.

  2. Yeah this is way worse than Mccain dropping the C-bomb on his wife in front of media, Larry Craig dallying with bringing home AIDS to his wife while playing weiner hockey in airports, Vitter being diapered by hookers and Mark Foley hitting on teen age boys while hammered. Schumer may well be an arrogant ass but the sanctimony as TS Eliot said of Hamlet is emotion in excess of the facts. Maybe you can fire up the right about Bill Clinton again, there’s a book coming out you know…

You 2 liberal Dems forgot to mention Bill Clinton and Barney Frank in your sexcapades. Get a life. It just shows that Chucky feels he’s better than everone else. His true personality comes out in every day interactions not during his hourly press conferences.

  4. Gosh, I was wondering where the post about Vitter demanding that the jetway doors be opened for him and him alone was. You know, the one where he pulled out the good old, “do you know who I am?!”

Hm, I must have missed the post about that.

  5. I must have missed the part where Ensign, Sanford, Vitter, etc. are politicians from New York.

Of course it is still sad that left-wingers, rather than criticize one of their own when they were clearly in the wrong, can only resort to moral relativism to paint Republican in a similarly bad or worse light when such examples are totally irrelevant to the issue..

    Sad. Just sad.

  6. Actually, I’m not aware of an airline that forbids you from using a cellphone while the cabin door is still open. Also, Schumer may be right, maybe she was a bitch. Either way, his rudeness was conveyed only to Gillibrand, not to the stewardess. Unlike Vitter’s outburst, which was directed to the airline employees.

Matt, these liberal Chucky lovers will not relent. When they aren’t chasing ambulances they are trying to make our country less free as done this weekend with heathcare reform. The majority of Americans don’t want it, but the Dems know whats better for the US. And on top of it they let rogue Dems blackmail the taxpayer. People should go to jail over what has taken place these last few weeks. I can’t wait till Nov 2010!

Theres nothing apparent about you Pundick, you are an idiot. Go troll on your own loser site. This site is for intellegent talk not ass patting.

  10. Tim: if this site is for intelligent talk, why are you commenting on it?

Also, why did you give up your “steve” monicker? How’s life in the public sector treating you?

Pundick…do you miss me that much? It feels great to be loved. Your site is so off the wall I read it like the comics in the paper. And remember…I’m in the private sector, in a respectable business, unlike yours.

  12. No you’re not. Go back and ask Chris what you should post next, hack.

Chris who? Merry Chris-mas? Look up in the air…its a bird, no its a plane…no its pundick chasing an ambulance. Happy New Year. I hope your site picks up…pretty boring stuff over there.

  14. Yeah, I don’t chase ambulances, but you’re too much of a pussy to admit you work for the state collecting that sweet, sweet taxpayer paycheck. Or tell us your real name and what you do for a living, coward. You can even email it to me. I won’t tell Domagalski or Collins that you told me.

And yes, it’s pretty boring stuff. If you’re a cretin.

So, Merry Christmas, cretin! Hope Santa Taxpayer was extra generous to you while you suckle at the government teat with your gaping, mouth-breathing maw!
